Medea: A Photographic Narrative

This photographic narrative was developed by me during the Audiovisual Laboratory course, in the final semester of my college program in Audiovisual and Multimedia at the Escola Superior de Comunicação Social, in Lisbon.

Brief

Create a photographic narrative in video format, consisting of approximately 20 original photographs.

Concept and Inspiration

The inspiration for this narrative came from Medea, the complex character from Euripides’s Greek tragedy. Medea is marked by intense passion and an unrelenting desire for vengeance. Her intelligence and cunning are evident, as is her capacity for extreme and cruel actions. Like Euripides’s Medea, my interpretation of Medea uses her intelligence to bring to life a drama filled with passion, conflict, and manipulation.

This narrative aims to capture Medea’s multifaceted essence, exploring her emotions and motivations through dramatic and evocative imagery.
