Vivian Maier - Inspiration

Overview

This photographic project was a challenge presented in the Photography course during my first year in the Audiovisual and Multimedia program at college. The task was to capture photos in the style of a photographer from a list provided by the instructor.

I chose the incredible street photographer Vivian Maier. Maier didn’t randomly photograph strangers; she was highly observant and skillful in capturing moments and details that many would overlook.

Concept and Inspiration

These photographs were taken with Vivian Maier’s work in mind, serving as my inspiration, yet they also reflect a lot of my personal touch. Black and white photography has always captivated and attracted me. In it, I find truth, but also poetry.
